Director of Foster Care
Melissa has more than 15 years of experience in the child welfare field, most recently as director of family services for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver.
Lead Foster Care Case Manager
Liesel has more than 15 years of experience working with children in the child welfare system who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, and mental health issues. Prior to her 10 years’ experience working with foster children and foster families she worked at a residential treatment center. Liesel holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work.
Foster Care Licensing Specialist
Cheryl has more than 13 years of experience working with foster and adoptive families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver. Cheryl is a Colorado native and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons.
Foster Care Case Manager
Rita Baran holds undergraduate degrees in both psychology and French and a master’s degree of science in education with a specialization in counseling. Rita has more than 15 years of experience working with children and families. She has worked at Mount Saint Vincent for over nine years, starting as an educational mental health worker in a classroom before becoming day treatment manager. Rita loves being active and spending time outdoors.
